America was founded on the truth that anything was possible. We were too be the country where you were free from oppression and could be free too pursue happiness in whatever way you like. This idea was amazing, the idea too be "American". All the truths that we hold dear too this day were first portrayed in one document, known as the Declaration of Independence. The declaration of independence was not original in anyway - it was a collection of thoughts. What every individual in the thirteen colonies wanted too say to King George. In Jefferson's own words "Neither aiming at originality of principle or sentiment, nor yet copied from any particular and previous writing, it was intended to be an expression of the American mind, and to give to that expression the proper tone and spirit called for by the occasion."
All their distrust, anger, and discontent was focused into one doctrine. This doctrine is known by all but understood by few. This war was fueled simply by unfair acts of our mother country, England. Too try to save themselves from a debt they accrued themselves, the British enacted several taxes upon the colonies. An example some of you may know, is the stamp act. A tax that the British placed on most documents such as newspapers and documents. Quite simply put this pissed people off. Their were riots, organized attacks, and burning of homes. These original Americans went on a rampage over a simple tax on goods.
Now simply fast-foward too modern America. Our tamed Americans of today do nothing when our government announces over 250 billion dollars will be used too bail out major corporations. The original patriots of our country killed and rioted when a simple tax was placed upon them. Now in what could be our finest moment we sit like tamed lap dogs and do nothing. We are being sold out by our own government too help those who are undermining our country every single day. Putting people out of jobs so they can hire cheaper labor in other countries, slowly selling America out and being aided by our own government. This is intolerable, this is injustice in its truest form. Ask yourself this, "Would the original patriots of this country stand for this?" I think we all know the answer too this, they would not stand for it.
"Darkness shall ever afterwards bring with it those frightful ideas, and they shall be so joined, that he can no more bear the one than the other."-John Locke
In our darkest days, we all have scary thoughts. Do not dismiss them, in fact you should embrace them. Radical thinking is truly contagious and when people are removed from their shell of security - revolutionary ideas and theories are put into action. We have been tamed by modern America - we are merely lapdogs compared too the bull dogs we used too be. Where is the people's representation in this time of uncertainty? Jefferson culminated the mind's of all Americans into one document that will be remembered for all time - our forefathers truly derived it's powers and cause from the people. We have no more representation and we have no say. Our plight is solitary, our downfall is a personal one. Once the chant of America was "No taxation without representation."
I say "No bailout without American approval."
